Aelma Azad is a visual designer whose interest revolves around visual development and storytelling. Growing up in Los Alamos, New Mexico—also known as the Atomic City—renowned for its excellent scientific population, students are always encouraged to pursue careers in science and engineering. This led her to become a Visual Designer for Los Alamos National Laboratory, utilizing visual design skills to emphasize a wide range of progressive sciences on behalf of national security, ensuring the safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear stockpile. As a Bangladeshi-American, her background has granted her a profound appreciation for the power of storytelling and its ability to convey timeless, universal themes across all cultures. By incorporating South Asian art forms that can offer fresh perspectives on character design, world-building, and visual storytelling, she aspires to enhance the cultural richness of animation.
