Digital Design
Coleman Conley is a Digital Designer based in Colorado. He thinks that design and art are one and the same, and as such he tends to use illustration and visual arts in his work. He has a particular interest in Tabletop Roleplaying Games (TTRPGs), which enable players to come together and play games to cooperatively tell stories in the “Theater of the Mind.” These include (but not limited to) Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), Pathfinder, Mork Borg, Mothership, and numerous other indie TTRPG titles.
Using his time spent running the same game for 4 years and playing a total of 6 years, Coleman wants to reimagine the way we tell stories in these games using culturally inspired game design. His hope is to use Kickstarter to publish his first project, which will be a setting book that allows players to interact with the world he has written, inspired by ancient Egyptian mythology and deiselpunk imagery. His writing and game design derive from the art history courses he took over the length of his college career, which influenced him to read even more on cultural inspirations for game mechanics.
Other projects of his include his ongoing webcomic, Hypnogogia, as well as a 3D printing business on Etsy, ColgiMiniature, which he started with his partner in life, Mingi Webber. Overall, Coleman wants to create platforms to give voices to the underrepresented, to make games that create perspective and understanding through dialogue, and to bring people together with cooperative storytelling.
